The Ukrainian Union of Jewish Students is a pan-Ukrainian, non-governmental organization established in 1995 and renewed in 2005. UUJS is a young but strong organization with a large membership. Our main mission is to establish and to develop strong Jewish youth community, to organize educational seminars and programs, to lobby interests of Jewish Diaspora in Ukraine.

The European Union of Jewish Students Elects the 2010-2012 Presidium

 

The European Union of Jewish Students is pleased to announce that current EUJS vice-Chair Benjamin Zagzag, has been elected as the 19th Chairperson of the EUJS the bi-annual Congress. Set within the weeklong Summer University, which this year brought together over 450 participants, the EUJS Congress remains a model for organizations throughout the European Youth Sector.

During its bi-annual Congress held at the 26th Summer University in Maloja, Switzerland, over sixty official delegates from more than twenty-five countries elected a new slate of officers and presidium members for the 2010-2012 term. Joining Benjamin are: Paulina Zaharieva, Bulgaria; Daniel Orelowitz, England; Jane Braden-Golay, Switzerland; Michele Disegni, Italy; Victoria Godik, Ukraine; Ceni Palti, Turkey; Simoni Tiano, Greece. Also elected at the EUJS Congress were Andrei Schwartz, Romania, as Treasurer.

Summer University is a unique event gathering 500 Jewish students and young adults from 18-35 years old, coming from all over Europe and the World. It offers amazing and educational workshops and wild night life.

While at Summer U you will have the opportunity to do everything from making new friends from all over Europe and discussing the Jewish world and its challenges, to partying late into the night, playing sports, living a full Jewish life, and much more. Year after year, we have created and developed a right of passage for some five hundred European Jewish students, in a fresh and dynamic European Jewish tradition. Now known as Summer University the single largest European Jewish event to occur every year, it is one of Europe's largest and most successful youth programs. Summer University is about sharing new ideas, views and dreams. It is about discovering yourself, having a lot of fun, connecting with your community and experiencing a vibrant, energetic and engaging Jewish life.

The prices (390 euro until 25th of June) include accommodation (7 nights in a beautiful hotel), kosher food, local transportation, parties every night, workshops, conferences with high-level speakers, room service, free internet, day-trip and much more.
